An honest confession of sin gives power to live the life of victory over sin. At the time we confess our sin, He forgives us, hinding us in His place.
I remember the time Lasote told me that he thought I were the only girl who had the ability to concern our younger school sisters and to be their model. At that time, other girls had some difficulties in their daily life or in their hearts. Most of them were facing their weakness. In that situation, Lasote encouraged me to spend more time helping and concerning our younger school sisters.When I heard what he said, I told him I will do my best. At the same moment, I felt a sense of pride, thinking ,"Yes, I am the only one who can do this!". Before I slept, I prayed to God. Suddenly He enlightened me to confess my sin. I bursted into tears, told him how selfish I am. I said, "Lord I feel shameful that I am so proud, and I felt happy because my companions are weaker than me. How shamful and how bad I am......please deliver my sin and clean me from unrighteousness, renew my heart......" I told Him all my defects, including my pride, my selfishness and my lack of mercy to my companions. I weeping in front of Lord, understanding how bad I am. But after the shameful feeling came His love! He comforted me and accepting my deficiencies. He let me know he has forgiven my faults. I just bathed in His love and rested in His arms.
In the next day, I told Lasote that I had the bad thinkings, but I also rested in peace for God has enlighten me. There were no more shamful feeling in my heart. Instead, my heart was full of appreciation for He let me see my drawbacks and for His love of forgiveness.
David says,"When I kept silence, Thy hand was heavy upon me." But when he had confessed his sin, a wonderful change came. When I confess my sin to God, I feel not only His heavy hand remove but also His love shed abroad.
Please enlight me to confess all my sin in front of U, enlight me to confess with a sincere heart so that I can renewed by U day from day. Amen.
